By using extremely small doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic injected directly into a specific muscle, the action of the muscle will be paralyzed. Please be assured that only the action of the targeted muscle will be affected. After treatment, the problem the targeted muscle causes, like a deep frown or squint line, will be temporarily eliminated. In addition to reducing brow furrows, BOTOX® Cosmetic can also be used to reduce crows feet around the outer eye area. In either case, the actual treatment takes only a couple of minutes and is relatively painless.

A forehead lift, also called a brow lift, is the name of the procedure that corrects drooping eyebrows and/or forehead lines which are often the first signs of aging. When left unabated, drooping eyebrows can cause "hooding" of the upper lids. Patients often complain that their eyes appear to be getting smaller or deeper-set, and friends may tell them they look sad or tired -- even "grumpy". A brow lift produces a more youthful and rested appearance. In addition to elevating the brow and eliminating forehead lines, a brow lift can reduce crows feet around the outer edge of the eyes.

Mentoplasty is the official name of the surgical procedure that makes a weak or receding chin appear more prominent. An implant is placed in a pocket over the bone of the chin. The goal is to strengthen the chin and give the face more balance and harmony. Sometimes it is necessary to correct the nose as well, though a stronger chin often makes the nose appear more balanced. Some patients also opt to undergo liposuction of the neck area in addition to or independent of chin augmentation. Otoplasty is the name given to the procedure used to reposition or "pin back" protruding ears. This common congenital condition ranges in severity from cases in which the ears are only mildly protruding to cases in which the ears protrude to an extreme degree. Sometimes only one ear is affected, but usually both ears develop in a similar fashion. Correcting ears that protrude is a relatively low-risk procedure which can be performed on both adults and children. Scarring from this procedure is virtually undetectable as the incision is created behind the ear.

Dermal Fillers can be used to restore youthful fullness to your face, enjoy plump lips, enhance shallow contours or soften those facial creases and wrinkles. Dermal fillers have been called "liquid facelifts" because they offer many of the benefits of a surgical facelift without the downtime. As the name implies, this is virtually just a smaller version of the full face lift. Typically this is a procedure which we recommend for the 35 to 50 year old patient who is concerned mostly about loose skin along the jawline and less about skin laxity involving the mid to lower portion of the neck. It allows Dr. Waldman to lift the lower 1/3 to ½ of the face significantly with very little down time. During the procedure, Dr. Waldman makes a short incision in front of the ear allowing him to re-suspend the tissues under the skin. He then removes the excess and re drapes the overlying skin to smooth out the wrinkles and redefine the jaw line. At times we also will combine the mini-lift procedure with liposuction under the chin (submentum) or under the jaw line in the upper portion of the neck. Use of a silastic chin implant is also another option in some cases. The result of this surgery is a younger, fresher looking face with less recovery time than the traditional lower face and neck lift.
