Breast Lift With Implant
Who is a candidate for the breast lift procedure?
Women who have sagging breasts due to past pregnancies, weight loss, genetics or aging and desire larger breast.
Are implants sometimes used with a breast lift procedure?
Yes we use both saline and silicone implants when it is necessary to provide more breast volume.
How is a breast lift performed?
The design of the incisions can vary, but usually include incisions around the nipple-areolar complex and in the crease under the breast. Other incision techniques may include a vertical lift “lollipop” or a full lift “anchor type.” The nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, the excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped in a pleasing contour and in a more normal position.
How long is the recovery process?
The patient will go home in a bra with only light dressings over the incision lines and will wear it for about 4 weeks. Sutures are removed within 10-14 days and initial discomfort is controlled with oral medication. A patient can start light activity in 7-10 days.
